Smriti Mandhana made second position in ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings, Jemimah Rodrigues also reached the top 15 for the first time
India’s star opener Smriti Mandhana has jumped one position to the second position in ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings by scoring a brilliant century against Sri Lanka in the final of the women’s tri-series. Mandhana played a tremendous innings of 116 runs in 101 balls in the final, due to which she now has 727 rating points. She is just 11 points behind the number 1 ranked Laura Wolvaardt.

His match-winning century in the final against Sri Lanka and a half-century in the group match against South Africa boosted his ranking considerably. Due to consistent performances, he has returned to the top 3 in the ODI batsmen list.
Jemimah and Deepti also showed their mettle

Apart from Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues also achieved her career-best 15th ranking by playing an explosive innings of 123 runs against South Africa. She has jumped 5 places in the ranking.
In the same match, Deepti Sharma also scored 93 runs and her ranking has got a boost of 13 positions. Now they are at the joint 32nd position in the ODI batsmen list.
Sri Lankan players also got the reward

The ranking of some players of the Tri-series runner-up team Sri Lanka also saw improvement. Captain Chamari Athapaththu has now reached the joint 7th rank after jumping 2 places. Young batter Vishmi Gunaratne jumped 8 ranks to reach the 63rd position, while Anushka Sanjeewani made the biggest leap by jumping 19 places to reach the 75th position.
Individual performance of some South African players was strong
The tournament overall was not special for South Africa, but some of their players performed well at the individual level. Vice-captain Chloe Tryon played two strong innings of 67 and 74 runs, due to which her ranking jumped by 9 positions and now she is in 18th place.
She has 594 rating points, just 7 less than her career-best 601 points. Tryon also took a hat-trick against Sri Lanka, which boosted her bowling rankings by 14 places, and she is now in 50th position. She also jumped three ranks to 11th in the all-rounders list.
Her teammates Tazmin Brits, Annerie Dercksen, and Nadine De Klerk have also improved their rankings. Brits is now in joint 32nd place, Dercksen is 50th, and De Klerk is 54th. In the bowling rankings, De Klerk has moved up one place to 24th position, while in the all-rounders list he has jumped four spots to reach 12th place. Dercksen has also taken a boost of 19 places to achieve 44th position in the all-rounders list.
There is no change in the top 20 in the bowling rankings
There is no change in the list of the top 20 players of the ICC Women’s ODI bowling rankings after this update. But India’s Sneh Rana has jumped 4 spots to achieve her career-best joint 34th ranking. Sri Lanka’s Sugandika Kumari has also jumped 4 spots to reach the 37th position.
