Babar Azam becomes the top ranked T20I batter for the longest period in ICC rankings

Pakistani batter Babar Azam surpassed Virat Kohli as the No. 1 T20I batter for the longest period of time.

Pakistani batter Babar Azam becomes the only top-ranked batter in the world to stay in the top position for the longest period. He surpassed former Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli as the batter to stay at the No.1 position for a longer period.

Earlier, this record was with the Indian batter Virat Kohli who stayed at the top position in ICC rankings for 1013 days. Babar Azam has surpassed Virat and is currently at the top position for straight 1014 days and running. Indian fans and the cricketing world knows that former Indian captain (Virat Kohli) is not in good touch lately. The former RCB skipper hasn’t recorded a single century in the International cricket since 2019, November.

Virat Kohli was leading this ranking before Babar Azam overtook him with his wonderful batting stats in these years. Pakistani batter Babar Azam is currently one of the best batters playing in the world right now not only in T20Is but also in the other formats. Currently, India’s No. 18 (Virat Kohli) is at 21st position in the ICC men’s T20I Batting Rankings with 571 points.

Babar Azam and his partner Mohammad Rizwan are currently leading this table with 818 and 794 points respectively.
