Barbora Krejcikova, the current Wimbledon champion, is a story of endurance and perseverance. She navigated through several challenges in her path to become the champion she is today.
Known for her aggressive playing style and her powerful groundstrokes, Barbora Krejcikova became world No. 1 in doubles on 22 October 2018 and achieved her career-high singles ranking of world No. 2 on 28 February 2022.
She has won a total of 12 Grand Slam titles, including two in singles, seven in doubles, and three in mixed doubles. She is one of only two active female players to have won a major title in all three categories, alongside Venus Williams.
Krejcikova had been a dominant force in the double’s category. She won the doubles titles at the 2018 French Open and 2018 Wimbledon Championships.
The Czech also emerged victorious in the 2021 French Open and 2022 Wimbledon Championships title. She completed her grand slam with the doubles title in New York at the US Open in 2022.
Krejcikova won three Grand Slam mixed doubles titles, winning the Australian Open for three years in a row from 2019 to 2021. To add to it, she bagged six more doubles titles on the WTA Tour, one WTA 125K series doubles title as well as 19 doubles titles on the ITF Circuit.
In August 2021, Barbora Krejcikova with her partner Siniaková won the gold medal at 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the women’s doubles. The duo also won the 2021 WTA Finals doubles title in November 2021.
In October 2020, Krejcikova made it to the fourth round of the French Open after which she attained a new best year-end ranking of No. 65 in November.
In March 2021, the Czech reached her first singles final of a WTA 1000 tournament at the Dubai Championships, although she lost to Garbiñe Muguruza. As a result, she scaled up to a new career-high ranking of no. 38 in the singles.

It was in May 2021 that Krejcikova won her first WTA singles title at Strasbourg, a day before the start of the 2021 French Open. Subsequently, she won the French Open, her Grand Slam title in singles which propelled her to no. 15 in singles rankings.
Barbora Krejcikova won her third WTA singles title in Prague, reaching a career high of world No. 2 in February 2022 in singles ranking after reaching the final at Sydney and the quarterfinals of the 2022 Australian Open. She added two more singles titles in 2022 in Tallinn and Ostrava.

In 2023, the Czech won her maiden WTA 1000 singles title at the 2023 Dubai Tennis Championships, defeating four top-10 opponents, including the world No. 1, 2, and 3.
In 2024, the 28-year-old reached her second Grand Slam final at Wimbledon 2024 and won the title defeating Jasmine Paolini in three sets. It was her second singles Grand Slam win after the 2021 French Open.
