Real Madrid was surprisingly backed by Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman , who lashed out at Juergen Klopp for calling out Madrid’s Di Stefano stadium as a practice pitch after a shocking 3-1 defeat in the first leg of Champions League match between the two sides.
Koeman’s side, will play against Real Madrid this Sunday at Di Stefano stadium since the Bernabeu is currently being overhauled and renovated.
Juergen Klopp was quiet unhappy that his side had to play at Di Stefano stadium and made it quite verbal in a statement.
Koeman however disapproved of what Klopp had to say. He said “It’s disparaging to a big club like Madrid (to say it is a training pitch), they’ve chosen the time to do renovation works at their stadium and they’ve chosen well,
“Madrid are used to playing on that pitch and the opponents have to play there, and that’s that.
“For players, the tough thing is playing without any fans.
Barcelona is just 1 point away from the top, Real Madrid on the other hand are 3 points away from the top. A win in Sunday’s match will decide who gets to go on top
