Bayern Munich is nowhere close to signing Harry Kane

3 Min Read

Bayern Munich’s interest in Harry Kane this summer is no secret, but Sky Sports reports that the valuation gap between the two clubs is at least £20 million ($25.7m), despite a meeting with club executives in London on Monday. Spurs are asking approximately £100 million ($128 million) for their talisman.

Bayern Munich ready to break the bank for Harry Kane

Bayern Munich is said to be willing to surpass their own transfer record for Kane, which is presently €80 million (£68.5 million/$88 million) for Lucas Hernandez from Atletico Madrid in 2019. The 30-year-old striker has one year left on his Tottenham deal and will be available for free in a year. Tottenham is reportedly said to want a buy-back clause added to the deal, allowing Kane to return to his childhood club in the future.

He still plays for the Spurs as of right now. But with Bayern Munich and Manchester United all interested in signing him, in addition to PSG, it may be a hectic few weeks for rumours surrounding the England captain.

Is Kane ready to go to Germany?

Despite his desire to surpass Alan Shearer’s Premier League goalscoring record, Kane appears willing to move to Germany from England. At least according to German news outlets, a personal contract between Bayern and the striker has apparently been reached.

His exorbitant asking price frightened Real Madrid away, while Manchester United was forced to give up on their pursuit of Kane after Spurs declared they would never sell him to a Premier League rival.

Kane came close to winning on a few occasions despite never having won a significant trophy with Spurs or England. He was a member of the Tottenham team that Liverpool defeated in the 2019 UEFA Champions League final. When England lost to Italy on penalties for UEFA Euro 2021, he came even closer.

Kane agrees on personal terms with Bayern Munich

If Kane declines to accept a contract renewal before his tenure at Tottenham expires the next summer, the club intends to release the forward this summer. The following season, Tottenham won’t give up their top scorer for free.

The executive chairman of Tottenham, Daniel Levy, has not indicated that he would be prepared to transfer the team’s English captain, and Tottenham insists that they would be unwilling to do so.

Kane is being urged to sign with Bayern Munich by manager Thomas Tuchel because he thinks they can give him a chance to win the Champions League.
