BCCI to send these 2 teams to the Olympics, check out
The Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) has allowed the participation of both Men’s and Women’s teams in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. It has also allowed the participation of the Women’s national team in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games to be held next year.
This means that cricket is all set to mark its presence in the Olympics yet again after doing it for the first time in 1900. BCCI’s eagerness for participation in the Olympics might well act as a booster for ICC for aiming a spot in the Olympics
According to senior official members of BCCI, the board is agreeable to send both of its teams if they can cut the Olympics. This would also act as a huge booster for both teams.
Recently, the International Cricket Council (ICC) formed a committee that aimed at the feasibility of bringing cricket back into the Olympics. Currently, the committee is in charge of dealing with the International Olympic Association (IOA).
If everything goes by the plan, both the teams are likely to contest in the Olympics which would also evolve the chances of an increase in the medal tally of the whole Indian sports contingent.
