The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is likely to be put on hold starting Friday, May 9. The decision is being considered due to growing cross-border tensions. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been holding urgent meetings to explore the best way forward.

Why Is IPL 2025 Getting Suspended?

According to reports, the BCCI is not comfortable continuing the tournament at this time. The current national mood and rising safety concerns are the main reasons behind this possible suspension. The board is also worried about the players, especially those from outside India.

Players Are Getting Worried

Many foreign players who are part of different IPL teams are feeling unsafe. Some are looking for a way to go back home as soon as possible. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have reportedly asked to return from Lucknow, where they were scheduled to play the Lucknow Super Giants tonight.

This request came soon after the Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match in Dharamsala was postponed just a day earlier.
