The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially declared that the rest of PSL 2025 will be conducted in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This move comes in the wake of the increasing India vs Pakistan war-like tensions at the border, which have created serious security issues for international players and officials participating in the tournament.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed on May 9 that the suspected strike on the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium was a targeted attempt to sabotage PSL 2025. This incident prompted the cancellation of the high-profile game between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings.

Naqvi explained, “The act was intended to disrupt PSL 2025, and we could not compromise the safety or mental well-being of our players.

In a press release on May 8, the Indian Defence Ministry explained that their recent attacks were aimed at air defence radars and facilities in Pakistan. This was because Pakistan had launched an attempted attack on 15 targets in northern and western India during the evening of May 7 and morning of May 8, which were said to have been deflected by the Indian Air Force.

Remaining PSL 2025 Matches to be Held in UAE

The PCB has announced that the remaining eight matches of PSL 2025, including qualifiers and the final, will now be held in the UAE. Though the schedule is yet to be announced, officials promised that it would be announced shortly.

Being a responsible institution, we’ve once again decided to do what’s in the best interest of the game and our players by shifting PSL 2025,” he said.
