Eng v Ind: Joe Root gets his 5th century of the year; host close to victory
Joe Root has scored an another century and it came when England required it the most.
England are on the verge of winning the 5th rescheduled Test match against India at Edgbaston which started on 1st July. Former English captain Joe Root has scored an another century to take his team closer to victory. Before this match, Indian team were leading the series by 2-1 but now if England manages to get the victory in the last game the series will stand at 2-2.
Indian team were so close to making history in England by beating them in the Test series but they couldn’t do it, credits goes to Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow who destroyed Indian pacers in the second innings while chasing a target of 378 runs. Joe Root’s century against India was his fifth of the year and fourth of this particular series. One of the best Test cricket batters Joe Root has scored 11 centuries since 2021 in Test and comparing to him former Indian captain Virat Kohli hasn’t scored a single. Joe Root has more than 2500 runs in Test since 2021 and whereas Virat hasn’t even touched 1000-run mark.
Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow will be clearly the match winners for England cricket team as they were at the crease when the team lost three wickets in quick succession.
