Indian cricket team defeated Jos Buttler’s England in the first ODI by 10 wickets which was played at The Oval on Tuesday, 12th July. It was an emphatic victory for the visitors as they destroyed the hosts’ batting and then bowling line-up. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma played very well during India’s chase of 111 runs in the second innings.
India only needed 111 runs in 300 balls (50-overs), thanks to Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami who didn’t let any English batter stay at the crease for long. Jasprit Bumrah made a new record of having the best bowling figures as Indian in England (6/19). Indian opening batter Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan finished off the game. Rohit scored 76* with the help of 6 boundaries and 5 huge sixes. Skipper Rohit Sharma also reached a new milestone in ODI cricket as he becomes the only Indian batter to hit 250 sixes in ODI cricket. Overall in this ODI sixes tally, Rohit Sharma is on fourth place. The Indian skipper and ‘Gabbar’ (Shikhar Dhawan) led India to the victory over England which became the biggest win for Indian cricket team against the English side.
