COVID-19 is not leaving New Zealand’s players behind as another member from the visitor’s camp got positive. After skipper Kane Williamson, opened better Devon Conway tested positive for COVID-19. The news of Devon Conway’s testing positive was out on Thursday, 16th June. New Zealand posted their official statement regarding this.
England and New Zealand are currently playing the 3-match Test series in England. The host has already won the series after they won the second Test at Trent Bridge. England is leading the series by 2-0 but still will be playing the last Test match as they are looking to clean sweep this Series.
Despite facing a defeat in both the Test match, New Zealand gave a tough fight to the 2019 World Cup winners (England). Opening batter Conway performed well in this year’s IPL with CSK. Devon Conway also had a decent performance in the first two games he played in this series. Now, as he has got positive, New Zealand will pick his replacement in the final game. Skipper Tom Latham will be hoping they win the last game so that they don’t let England do a 3-0 over them. According to New Zealand official statement, Devon Conway can return to the squad before the final Test which will be played on June 23.
