England has announced their squad for the upcoming Ashes series
Stuart Broad, recovering from an injury has been named in the squad and is expected to return to the team by next week.
England has named their squad for the upcoming Ashes tour soon to take place in Australia. Coach Chris Silverwood has selected 17 players for the tour.
Joe Root as expected will captain the three lions in the series. Meanwhile, ten of the seventeen players will tour Australia for the first time. Jos Buttler, Vice Captain is one among them.
Meanwhile, Sam Curran has been ruled out of the tour after he suffered a stress fracture in his lower back. The player was subjected to a scan and was ruled out of the tour. However, Stuart Broad, who himself was recovering from an injury has progressed well. The veteran seamer has recovered well and has been named as part of the squad. This will be Broad’s worth tour down under. He will begin to bowl next week at the ECB Performance Centre in Loughborough. Subsequently, the whole Ashes squad will prepare for the Ashes tour at the performance center.
Ben Stokes was not available since he has taken an indefinite break from cricket sighting mental wellbeing.
The talks between ECB and Cricket Australia continue regarding the quarantine issue. Both the parties involved are looking to come to a good result.

England’s test specialists and the Lions squad will depart on November 4. Meanwhile, players who are set to play in the World T20 will join the team once their commitments end in the ICC tournament.
Dates and venues for England’s warm-up matches against the Lions will be confirmed and released by Cricket Australia in due course. There will be a three-day and a four-day match planned.
