Erik ten Hag likely to bench Cristiano Ronaldo in the first game against Brighton

Manchester United will be playing their first Premier League game against Brighton FC on Saturday.

English Premier League new season is just a day away and all the teams are ready to be in the action this weekend. Premier League teams will be playing their first games this week and thus all the teams have already started training after completing their pre-season tour. Manchester United are also training hard under their new manager Erik ten Hag.

United’s striker Cristiano Ronaldo who didn’t go on a pre-season tour with the other team members is likely to be benches by the new manager Erik ten Hag for their first game in the Premier League new season. Manchester United will face Brighton FC in their first Premier League game which will be played on Sunday, 7th August at Old Trafford (Manchester United’s home ground).

Manchester United striker Ronaldo has only played a single game this season which was United’s last pre-season game against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, 31st July. Cristiano Ronaldo only played till half-time as Erik ten Hag thinks the Portuguese forward is not fit to the level he wants and thus he feels Ronaldo needs to train hard before coming into the playing XI.
