Cheating has been one of the biggest problems in BGMI online esports events. With thousands of teams playing from different places, keeping every match fair has always been hard. To solve this, Krafton India Esports has launched a new tool called the FairPlay Shield App for BGIS 2026.
This app is made to help officials check players, track devices, and make sure no one uses unfair methods during online matches. All teams who want to take part in BGIS 2026 must use this app in the online stages of the tournament.
What the FairPlay Shield App Does
The FairPlay Shield App works alongside BGMI during official matches. It helps confirm who is playing and what device they are using. The system is designed to catch things like hacking, emulator use, and account sharing.
Instead of moving every match to a physical location, which is not possible for such a big event, Krafton is using this app to improve control while still keeping the tournament online.
Why Krafton Made This Tool
In the past, Krafton tried different ways to reduce cheating. These included asking for player point-of-view videos, hand camera checks, and bringing some stages to LAN events. Even with these steps, problems still appeared.
The FairPlay Shield App adds another layer of safety. It allows real-time checks without slowing down the competition or making it too complex for players and officials.
How Players Can Set It Up
Players need to download the FairPlay Shield App from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. After installing, they must sign in using their Krafton India Esports ID and verify their account with a one-time password.
Once logged in, players have to allow a few permissions. These include camera access, device usage access, and battery settings. These steps help the app work smoothly during long matches.
How the Anti-Cheat System Works
Before each official match, players must complete a quick check inside the app. They enter the match code, take a selfie to confirm their identity, and let the app scan their device.
After this, they can open BGMI and start playing. In some cases, the app may ask for another selfie during the match to make sure the same person is still playing.
The app also supports hand camera checks using QR codes given by tournament staff. This helps ensure that players are not using extra devices, emulators, or hidden tools.
A Step Toward Fair Competition
With the FairPlay Shield App, Krafton is trying to make BGMI esports cleaner and more trusted. While no system is perfect, this move shows a strong effort to protect honest players and give every team a fair chance to win.
As BGIS 2026 gets closer, this new system could play a big role in shaping how online esports events are run in India.
