In all, 116 fan organisations are demanding that Premier League clubs freeze prices for the seasons 2026-27 and 2027-28, and work more transparently with supporters.

Freeze home ticket prices for two seasons

Share data on ticketing structures and pricing

The letter underscores the fact that frequent price hikes are increasingly pricing out loyal fans, especially young supporters and working-class communities.

The document argues that clubs must “stop the arms race” over ticket prices, stating that massive spending on player transfers, agent fees, and wages cannot fairly be funded through fan contributions. It cites the existing £30 cap on away tickets as proof that the league can implement fairer pricing when it wants to.

The Chelsea Supporters’ Trust, one of the organisations behind the letter, stressed the need to safeguard the matchday atmosphere at Stamford Bridge. They insist that after two seasons of above-inflation increases, the football club must now pause further price hikes so that the stadium remains accessible and inclusive for generations of fans.

This change makes the campaign one of the latest-starting and latest-finishing seasons in Premier League history, excluding those disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic. The league said the change was made because of a crowded global soccer calendar and growing concerns about player health.

Fair Ticketing Demanded by Fans as League Changes Schedule

It is the growing pressure from supporters that illustrates the task now for Premier League clubs in rethinking how they go about pricing tickets. At the same time, the league’s revised 2026–27 schedule reveals the shifting priority of player welfare facing an increasingly crowded international calendar.
