The last time these teams faced each other in the group stages of Champions league, Atletico defeated PSG late in a 2-1 thriller. But since then, PSG have not looked back in their campaign.
PSG have not looked back in their campaign
They won the Champions league this season and have been one of the most dangerous teams in the world. Players like Ousmane Dembele, Vitinha and Desire Doue have been the main players who have helped PSG turn the tide.
The 1st half was a bit chaotic in the start but as it progressed it looked like PSG were comfortable in keeping the ball and Atletico were happy to sit deep. But this strategy backfired as Atletico conceded the 1st goal from Fabian Ruiz, when the Spaniard converted a low shot into the back of the net in the 19th minute.
This dominance was evident as Paris Saint-Germain kept growing into the game.
The ball looked glued to Paris players and Atletico were trying to press but the midfield maestro, Vitinha was running the game like he was in his backyard.

The players kept changing their position, keeping away from Atletico Madrid players who were outplayed in every aspect. It looked like Atletico might be lucky to only concede one goal but Vitinha scored in the 1st half stoppage time with a beautiful run from the middle of the park meaning that Paris doubled their lead in the 1st half itself.
The second half saw the game become a bit more even
The second half saw the game become a bit more even as Atletico Madrid was trying to play for the ball but PSG’s midfield was one step ahead. Sorloth missed an easy tap-in which could have seen his team get back into the game but was not able to. Julian Alvarez also had 1 goal disallowed due to VAR.

The match turned scrappy after the 60 minute mark as Atletico players continuously got yellow carded. Lenglet was also sent off in the 78th minute. Mayulu scored the 3rd goal in the 87th minute and Lee Kang-In deposited the penalty in the 90+7th minute, taking the scoreline to 4-0.
PSG have continued on their fine form and Atletico continues to struggle against big teams.
