FIFA World Cup 2022: The Squad of Serbia

The Serbia team has been drawn into “Group G”, alongside Brazil, Cameroon and Switzerland. As per the schedule of the FIFA World Cup 2022, their opening match in Group G is against one of the strong competitors, Brazil on 25 November 2022. 

Team of Serbia

The Serbia National Football team generally represents Serbia in numerous men’s International Football competitions. However, the team is said to be controlled by the Football Association of Serbia, also known as the governing body for football in Serbia. Currently, the team is led by their head coach, Dragan Stojković, with 

Dušan Tadić as their team captain. 

According to reports, the team has successfully participated in the World Cup edition of 1998, where they managed to reach the round of 16, as well as the quarterfinals at Euro 2000. The national team is further said to play World Cup tournaments of 2006, 2010 and 2018, but were unable to show progress post the group stage on each occasion. As of now, the team will be participating in the 2022 World Cup, which is taking place at Qatar. Though being placed in the same group as Brazil, the team might be required to face numerous hurdles. But, with great contenders by their side, the team is expected to present their potential and give a tough competition to other countries.
