Formula 1 is a huge global sport with more than 500 million fans worldwide. The sport is growing fast, especially among younger fans and in the United States. Top fan markets include China, Brazil, Mexico, the USA, and India. 

In 2025, Formula 1 set a new attendance record with 6.7 million total race spectators. Famous tracks like Silverstone Circuit had 50,00,00 fans, while Albert Park Circuit welcomed 46,50,00 fans.

The United Kingdom is the Heart of Formula 1

The United Kingdom is the commercial and technical hub of Formula One . Out of 11 teams on the grid, 6 teams are based in the UK, making it the center of car design and technology. The country also hosts the famous British Grand Prix at Silverstone Circuit. In 2025, Silverstone recorded more than 500000 fans over the race weekend, one of the highest attendances of the season.

The United States is seeing a huge rise in Formula One popularity. In 2025, TV viewership increased by 23 percent, showing strong growth. The country now hosts three races each season in Austin, Miami, and Las Vegas. The Austin race is held at Circuit of the Americas. With three Grands Prix and record-breaking attendances, the United States has become one of Formula 1 fastest growing markets.

China Has the Largest Formula 1 Fan Base

China has the biggest fan base of Formula 1 in the world. According to 2019 and 2020 Nielsen data, China had about 81.3 million Formula One fans. This makes it the largest national fan base for the sport. The huge number shows how popular Formula 1 is in China. With over 81 million fans, China plays a very important role in the global growth of Formula One.

 Brazil and Mexico Strong F1 Fan Power

Brazil and Mexico have very passionate Formula One fan bases. Brazil has about 54.7 million fans, while Mexico has around 45.5 million fans. These are very high numbers, showing strong support for the sport. 

Mexico also hosts one of the most well-attended and high-energy races each season, making it one of the loudest and most exciting events on the Formula 1 calendar.

 

Netherlands F1 Boom with Max Verstappen

The Netherlands has become a major Formula 1 hotspot because of Max Verstappen. He is a multiple-time world champion and one of the most successful drivers in recent years. His success has greatly increased Dutch support for Formula 1. At the Dutch Grand Prix held at Circuit Zandvoort, more than 300000 fans attended over the weekend, many dressed in bright orange to support Verstappen.
