GT vs RCB: IPL 2026 held an intense match between Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers of Bengaluru. Eventually, the Gujarati Titans came out with a win by 154 runs (in 16 overs) to become the fifth winner this season. The RCB is not affected by the loss and still sits 2nd on the points table.

RCB Innings: Batting Collapse Restricts Total to 155

The Royal Challengers Bangalore was batting first when they lost the toss at the Narendra Modi Stadium, where they scored 155 runs in 19.2 overs after starting well.

RCB quickly set some momentum early in the match through openers Jacob Bethell (34 runs off 16 balls) and Virat Kohli (28 runs off 13 balls) who used six boundaries to propel their team to 34 runs in less than four overs. However, shortly after Bethell was dismissed for just five runs and Kohli’s dismissal left RCB with only 35 runs from five overs.

RCB was experiencing a dearth of their middle order players contributing after the first two batsmen went out for 35 runs off 3.2 overs.

The opening batters were Devdutt Padikkal and captain Rajat Patidar formed a partnership of 44 runs for the third wicket before Patidar scored 19 runs and was dismissed which led to Padikkal being the lone bright spot for RCB with him being the only player to stand out during the entire innings.

The impact of not having support from Jason Behrendorff (scored 1 run off 5 balls), Tim David (scored 9 runs off 12 balls), or Krunal Pandya (scored 4 runs off 8 balls) was felt with how badly RCB’s momentum had been damaged.

Late Contributions Push Score

Padikkal had an important innings of 40 runs with 24 balls (5 fours and 2 sixes). Late in the match he put on a partnership with Romario Shepherd for 30 runs. Additionally, Venkatesh Iyer (12) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (15) played a role in establishing RCB with enough runs to compete.

Arshad Khan played a pivotal role in the bowling lineup by taking three wickets Jason Holder and Rashid Khan each took two wickets Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada got their one wicket each As a result, RCB never had any upper hand in the innings.
