Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who suffered an injury just before the Asia Cup final, arrived at the BCCI Center of Excellence (CoE) on Tuesday. He will be assessed there and decide on the next steps for his recovery.
India is set to leave for Australia on the 15th of October. All the Indian players have reached the capital and are scheduled to depart tomorrow. Virat Kohli also arrived in Delhi early this morning and will join the team for the upcoming tour.
The Australia tour will feature three 50-over matches from the 19th to the 25th of October. Following that, a five-match T20I series will kick off on the 29th of November.
Hardik Pandya’s Injury Update
Hardik Pandya, one of India’s key all-rounders, has been sidelined ever since the Asia Cup 2025. He injured his left quadriceps during the match against Sri Lanka and missed the final clash against Pakistan. The BCCI medical team advised him to rest until fully cleared.
On Tuesday, he checked in at the CoE in Bengaluru to be assessed and plan the next course of action, according to TOI. While the initial recovery timeline was expected to be around 4-6 weeks, the exact details will be clear only after this assessment.
Nitish Kumar Reddy to Replace Hardik
Because of Hardik Pandya’s injury, Nitish Kumar Reddy has been called up for the ODI series on the Australia tour. This will also mark his T20I comeback since the last series in 2024.
Hardik Pandya had a good Asia Cup 2025, taking 4 wickets and scoring 38 runs in the six games he played. Reports say he currently does not need surgery and could be back in action next month.
