India will be up against South Africa in the first T20I match, which will be played at Arun Jaitley stadium, Delhi on Thursday, 9th June. Earlier, KL Rahul was named as the captain for this series but now the opening batter had a groin injury so he’ll be out of this five-match T20I series against South Africa. Rishabh Pant will lead the team in place of Rahul. Pant will become India’s second-youngest captain to lead in T20I cricket.
It will be Rishabh Pant’s first game as captain of the Indian cricket team. Along with KL Rahul, Kuldeep Yadav also went out of this series as he injured his finger during a practice session. It will be interesting to see the Starting XI of India. Now, that opening batter KL Rahul is not in the team, the fans are curious to know who will open the innings for India. Pace bowler Umran Malik is expected to start in the first T20I against South Africa.
