The all-important semifinal game of the 2026 T20 World Cup between India and England is just a few hours away. Both teams will be itching to step on the field to give their best in an attempt to book a place in the final against New Zealand, scheduled to be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, by winning the game in question.
The Game
Both India and England are coming into the contest on the back of a win and will be high on confidence to replicate the same effort with bat, ball and in the field in order to strengthen their chances of winning.
The Composition
If we talk about the resources that both teams have at their disposal, it includes the likes of Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan and thecaptain Suryakumar Yadav in the batting department for India, while the bowling arsenal of theteam will be handled by Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy and vice-captain Axar Patel.
The Former Champions
As far as the 2022 T20 World Cup champions Englandare concerned, the Harry Brook-led side would back the batters to put on a strong show against an in-form Indian bowling lineup and would back experienced player Jos Buttler to have a good outing in the first six overs, which he hasn’t had in the ongoing tournament so far.
Other than Buttler, the onus will be on captain Harry Brook to lead from the front and prolong the good form that he has shown since moving up to number three in the batting order. On the bowling side of things, Adil Rashid will play a crucial role in keeping the Indian batters in check, and would also hope for Jofra Archer to pick wickets in the powerplay and make things easy for the leg spinners.
