The England and Wales Cricket Board named a 16-man squad for the final test. Amidst all the preparations for the final test in Manchester, England announces a 16 man squad for the game.

Team England Head Coach Chris Silverwood has named the players for the final test against India.

Lancashire wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler and spinner Jack Leach returned to the squad. It is to be noted that Buttler missed the fourth test due to the birth of his first child.

Following the birth of Jos Buttler’s daughter, the player marked his return to the side.

Interestingly, Leach has not played much in the series. It will be interesting to see the contribution of the valuable player.

In other news from the squad, the ECB also added that “Batsman Sam Billings, who was included in the fourth Test squad, has returned to Kent,”

England squad for the fifth Test: Joe Root (c), Moeen Ali, James Anderson, Jonathan Bairstow, Rory Burns, Jos Buttler, Sam Curran, Haseeb Hameed, Dan Lawrence, Jack Leach, Dawid Malan, Craig Overton, Ollie Pope, Ollie Robinson, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood

At present, the Indian team takes the lead of 2-1 against England. The final test will be held on 10th September. It will be live from the Old Trafford stadium in Manchester.
