The ISSF World Cup held in Lima, Peru, was a major international shooting competition organised by the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF). The tournament started on 13 April and concluded yesterday, on 22 April, which marked the end of the second World Cup event of the ISSF calendar in 2025. The tournament featured around 400 shooters from 43 countries competing in rifle, pistol, and shotgun events.
India finished third in the medal standings at the ISSF World Cup, securing a total of seven medals with two gold, four silver, and one bronze. This placed India behind China, which topped the chart with 13 medals and the USA, which also won seven medals but ranked second due to more golds.
Suruchi Phogat Shines At The ISSF World Cup

Suruchi Phogat was the standout performer, winning both of India’s gold medals. She clinched the gold in women’s 10m air pistol individual event, defeating India’s two-time Olympic champion, Manu Bhaker. She also secured a gold medal in the mixed team pistol event alongside Saurabh Chaudhary, a former youth Olympic and Asian Games champion.
Meanwhile, Simanpreet Kaur Brar won the silver in the women’s 25m pistol event, marking her first ISSF World Cup medal. Manu Bhaker earned a silver medal in the women’s 10m air pistol, while Arya Borse, who debuted in the ISSF World Cup this year, also won a silver medal in the mixed team rifle events. Another silver was scored by Arjun Babuta in the men’s air rifle event.
Saurabh Chaudhary, who also secured a gold medal, won another bronze in the men’s air pistol event.
India’s third-place finish at the ISSF World Cup 2025 reflects the country’s growing strength and depth in shooting sports on the global stage. The experience gained and the medals won in Lima provide the necessary experience for Indian shooters as they prepare for the season-ending ISSF World Cup Final in Doha later in 2025.
