BCCI President Sourav Ganguly on Sunday in an interview with PTI said that the Indian team will tour Sri Lanka for a limited-overs Bilateral series in July. The most amazing fact is that the team won’t have senior players such as Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

It is to be noted that the Indian Team will be playing its five-match test series against England in July. At the same time, the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka is also scheduled.

“We have planned a white ball series for the senior men’s team during July where they will play T20 Internationals and ODIs in Sri Lanka,”  Ganguly told PTI in an interview.

So, this eventually means that India will be going to play with team B in one day and T20i matches against Sri Lanka. The team will be formed in the absence of senior players such as Virat, Rohit, and Bumrah.

When asked how will India manage 2 teams at a time, Ganguly said ‘It will be a different side, which won’t have anyone from the outfit that will be in the United Kingdom at that time”.

Ganguly further said that ” it will be a team of white-ball specialists. It will be a different team,”

It is to be noted that this white ball series will clear various dilemmas of BCCI. With the help of this many youngsters such as Ishan Kishan, Surya Kumar Yadav, and Devdutt Padikkal may also get a chance. This may also give a booster to Prithvi Shaw’s and Hardik Pandya’s forms.
