Indian Men’s Hockey Championship: Coaching Session Elevates Standards
Craig Fulton imparts expertise in a coaching session for domestic head coaches during the 13th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship, elevating coaching standards in Indian hockey.

Chief coach of the Indian men’s hockey team, Craig Fulton, conducted a coaching session on Friday for the head coaches representing various member units participating in the 13th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2023.
The objective behind organizing the session at the Conference Hall of the Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium was to enhance coaching standards within the domestic circuit. This initiative provided an avenue for the exchange of knowledge and insights among the coaches.
Notable head coaches in attendance included Batham Sumit from Hockey Jharkhand, Vinay Kishor representing Hockey Uttarakhand, Daljeet Singh from Hockey Punjab, Mukesh Kumar of Hockey Haryana, Yendala Sagar representing Telangana Hockey, Satender Sharma from Delhi Hockey, Moirangthem Rinash Mettei of Manipur Hockey, Aravindan Ramachandran from Le Puducherry Hockey, Charles Dixon from Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu, and Deepak Saini from Hockey Arunachal.

The interactive coaching session, led by Fulton, covered a spectrum of topics, encompassing Indian principles of play with and without the ball, strategic game management concerning the score and remaining time, and effective player management, considering the demanding schedule, among other pivotal aspects.
Reflecting on the session, Craig Fulton expressed satisfaction, stating, “It was truly rewarding to engage with coaches from the domestic setup. The interactive nature of the session facilitated significant learning opportunities. Elevating coaching standards nationwide remains crucial. Players transitioning into the Indian setup will be better equipped for substantial career advancements if we continue in this direction.”
