Their first game against Pakistan resulted in a thrilling 3-3 draw. Captain Uttam Singh highlighted the team’s perseverance in the face of a 3-2 deficit, focusing on giving their all in the last moments to secure a crucial point.

Following this, the Indian Colts triumphed over Malaysia with a 3-1 win and conquered New Zealand with a convincing 6-2 victory, topping Pool B. Although the semi-final will pose a challenge, we’re approaching it with a positive mindset, focusing on our strengths while fortifying our defense against their full press,” explained Captain Uttam, outlining their preparations and aspirations for the upcoming match.

Germany is also set to participate in the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2023. The Indian team aims to overcome the European hockey powerhouse, seeking to defend their Sultan of Johor Cup title. Captain Uttam expressed, “A victory against Germany here would greatly boost our morale for the Junior World Cup. We’ve had fantastic support from Indian hockey fans in Malaysia; we appeal for their continued support in our campaign.”
