IPL 2021: Chris Gayle and other players who missed out on today’s match

Some key players that miss out on today’s clash, one of them include Universe Boss, Chris Gayle who turned 42 today!

Twitter is on a storm right now. Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals have missed out on some key players who would have played a crucial role in the playing XI today. RR are placed sixth while PBKS are at the seventh spot. This win will be important for both the teams to look at the qualifiers. What a shocker as Universe Boss, Chris Gayle is not included in the playing XI on his 42nd birthday! As a result, some critics are surprised!

“I am astonished that Chris Gayle is not playing. The fact remains, on your birthday, you need one of the stellar players of the T20 format. He has dominated every single T20 league and you drop him for this game on his birthday makes zero sense,” Gavaskar said on Star Sports.

Firstly, he was seen sporting a smile on field. Secondly, Pietersen, who interviewed Gayle just before the toss, was also baffled with Punjab’s team selection and couldn’t understand why they would leave out the Universe Boss on his birthday. As a result, fans are shocked and surprised!

Unfortunately, Ravi Bishnoi missed out on featuring in today’s game. Shahrukh Khan is left out. Chris Gayle will not be in the playing XI on his birthday. The team chooses to go with Arshdeep Singh and Harpreet Brar. Interestingly, Rajasthan Royals have Liam Livingston, Mahipal Lomror and Mustafizur Rahman to feature in the playing XI. Most critics on Twitter are so confused with the selection of players. It seems that the teams have read the pitches differently.

Let’s see how the game proceeds, best wishes to both the teams!
