IPL 2021: Faf Du Plessis of CSK might miss out on opening game

Recently, Faf Du Plessis suffered a groin injury as he returned to CPL for Saint Lucia Kings.

The Indian Premier League is going to be underway soon. The Chennai Super Kings will go against Mumbai Indians on 19th September. Unfortunately, the injury scare for Faf Du Plessis continues. After he recovered from a concussion (head injury), he returned to CPL for Saint Lucia Kings. At present, he is ruled out of the tournament due to a groin injury. The same injury woes have seen his exclusion even from the CPL semi-finals against Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR).

Firstly, Plessis and his injury have come as a huge setback for MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings. Secondly, he has been the Dhoni-led team’s leading run-scorer. As a result, who will replace the opening batsman is questionable!

Hoping that Faf Du Plessis will be better soon! As a result, he can contribute to the Chennai Super Kings and their campaign in the UAE very soon. MS Dhoni-led’s side came back strongly in the IPL 2021 and is ranked second in the league standings after the end of phase one. Let’s see how the game begins. Who will be taking the opening spot for the Chennai Super Kings? Best of luck to the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led side! Fans are already delighted about the return of the Indian Premier League and are waiting for the match to begin!
