IPL 2021: KKR has found a solid replacement for injured Rinku Singh, seen practising in nets

Kolkata Knight Riders have found a proper replacement for an injured Rinku Singh, who has been ruled out of the IPL due to a knee injury. The replacement happens to be, former RCB batsman, Gurkeerat Singh Mann who was seen practicing at KKR training camp.

There were a lot of known Indian domestic players, who went unsold, and surprisingly, Gurkeerat too turned out to be on the list.

The replacement is being considered as a like-for-like considering Rinku’s stature as a batsman, replaced with another complete batsman Gurkeerat.

Rinku Singh debuted against RCB in IPL 2018 and has played 10 matches for KKR ever since. Meanwhile, 30 years old Gurkeerat Singh Mann, has had a lengthy IPL career with first starting at Kings XI Punjab, then jumping ships to Delhi Daredevils (then) in 2018, and then finding a home at Royal Challengers Bangalore, since IPL 2019.

The acquisition for the base price of 50 lakhs, strengthens the team’s batting department. Only time will tell, whether Gurkeerat makes magic happen at KKR or it turns out to be just another season for an IPL veteran.
