IPL 2021: Manish Pandey’s slow innings raise concerns about his form

Manish Pandey has been struggling this IPL season. The right-handed middle-order batsman is under intense scrutiny for his less than average performance in three matches that SRH has played this year in the Premier League.

Pandey has failed to impress even in one match. Some say he has been displaying a total lack of motivation especially after he scored 38 runs off 39 balls on 15th April against Royal Challengers Bangalore. His strike rate was less than 100 which is considered incredibly low in this fast-paced format of cricket. He was even blamed on social media to have been the primary cause of his team’s loss against RCB.

His performance today has been more than disappointing as he lost his wicket to Mumbai’s Deepak Chahar in his first over at a mere score of 2 runs. He tried to slice the slice and Pollard took the catch. This has further speculated the demand to bench him for his poor performance and give chance to someone else.
