IPL 2025: The 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season is set to begin on March 14. It will run until May 25. This will be the 18th edition of the tournament, with a total of 74 matches being played. Since 2022, two new teams were added to the league, making it a 10-team competition.
A mega auction in November 2024 brought excitement as teams reshaped their squads. Some teams kept their key players, while others made big changes. Like players, some teams stuck with their old coaching staff, while others welcomed new faces. Here, we take a look at the head coaches of all 10 IPL teams for 2025.

IPL 2025: Head Coaches of All 10 Teams in Detail
1. Chennai Super Kings – Stephen Fleming
Stephen Fleming remains the head coach for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2025. He has been the coach since 2009. Fleming is the most successful coach in IPL history. Under his leadership, CSK won five titles and reached nine finals.
2. Mumbai Indians – Mahela Jayawardene
Mahela Jayawardene is back as the head coach for Mumbai Indians (MI) in 2025. He had previously coached MI between 2017 and 2022, leading them to three IPL titles. After a short break, he returns to guide MI once again.
3. Kolkata Knight Riders – Chandrakant Pandit
Chandrakant Pandit will continue as the head coach for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL 2025. KKR had a remarkable run in 2024, winning their third IPL title. Pandit has been key to their recent success and will aim for another strong season.
4. Sunrisers Hyderabad – Daniel Vettori
Daniel Vettori remains the head coach for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2025. Under his coaching, SRH reached the IPL final last season. Vettori, who also coaches Australia’s bowlers, works closely with captain Pat Cummins at SRH.
5. Royal Challengers Bangalore – Andy Flower
Andy Flower will coach Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for a second year. In IPL 2024, RCB made a strong comeback under Flower’s leadership, winning six games in a row to reach the playoffs. He will look to take them further in 2025.
6. Delhi Capitals – Hemang Badani
Hemang Badani takes over as the new head coach for Delhi Capitals (DC). He replaces Ricky Ponting. Badani has experience coaching other T20 teams. DC hopes he can change their fortunes after failing to make the playoffs for three seasons.
7. Punjab Kings – Ricky Ponting
Ricky Ponting is now the head coach for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in IPL 2025. He joined after leaving Delhi Capitals. Punjab has not made the playoffs since 2014, and they hope Ponting can bring the success that he delivered at DC.
8. Rajasthan Royals – Rahul Dravid
Rahul Dravid has returned to Rajasthan Royals (RR) as the head coach for IPL 2025. Dravid led India to a T20 World Cup victory in 2024 and returns to RR, where he was a mentor in the past. He replaces Kumar Sangakkara as head coach.
9. Gujarat Titans – Ashish Nehra
Ashish Nehra continues as the head coach of Gujarat Titans (GT) in IPL 2025. Nehra coached GT to the IPL title in 2022 but had a tough 2024 season. Despite rumors of a change, GT has stuck with Nehra for another season.
10. Lucknow Super Giants – Justin Langer
Justin Langer enters his second season as the head coach for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in IPL 2025. After missing the playoffs in 2024, Langer will look to guide LSG back to winning ways in 2025.
