Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) head coach Chandrakant Pandit has shared an update on Rinku Singh’s fitness before their upcoming match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 2025 IPL. He confirmed that Rinku is fit and ready to play.
Rinku Singh Cleared to Play Against CSK
There were some worries after Rinku got injured while fielding near the end of the match against the Rajasthan Royals at Eden Gardens. His injury had led to a lot of speculation, but he’s now confirmed to be fine.
Rinku Singh was outstanding in the field during KKR’s match against the Rajasthan Royals. He made two crucial saves that helped KKR win by just one run.
In the final over, he stopped a boundary with a full-length dive but looked in pain afterward, limping and holding his right groin. On the last ball, he made a sharp throw from long-off to run out Jofra Archer, sealing the narrow victory.

Coach Chandrakant Pandit Provides Positive Update
With Rinku Singh picking up a knock, there was plenty of speculation about his availability for the next match against the Chennai Super Kings. However, in a big boost for Kolkata Knight Riders, head coach Chandrakant Pandit has confirmed that the batter is ready to play.
Speaking to reporters, he said (as quoted by RevSportz): “Rinku Singh is fit.”
Rinku Singh also made a big impact with the bat in KKR’s win over Rajasthan Royals. He smashed an unbeaten 19 off just 6 balls, helping the team score 22 runs in the final over and finish at 206/4.
In IPL 2025 so far, Rinku has scored 188 runs with a highest score of 34* and a strike rate over 154. He’s averaging above 37 and will be eager to keep performing in the remaining matches.
KKR’s Playoff Hopes Still Alive
KKR are still in the playoff race, currently sitting 6th on the points table with 5 wins and 5 losses from 11 matches. They’ll need to win their remaining games to secure a playoff spot.
