In the match, RR captain Riyan Parag won the toss and chose to bowl first. RCB opener Virat Kohli played a key role, scoring his fifth half-century of the season. He also moved up to second place in the Orange Cap race. Kohli, along with Devdutt Padikkal, helped RCB reach a big total of 205/5 with both players hitting fifties.
While chasing, RR opener Yashasvi Jaiswal gave his team a strong start with a quick 49 off just 19 balls. Later in the innings, wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel played an important knock, scoring 47 runs to keep RR in the game.
