PCB’s Tough Decision Amid Rising Tensions

This decision comes after a tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday (April 22). In the attack, terrorists targeted tourists, and sadly, 26 people lost their lives while many others were injured. The incident shocked people around the world.

After the tragic attack in Pahalgam, the Indian government has taken strong action and decided to reduce its ties with Pakistan. The government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has asked all Pakistani nationals in India to leave within 48 hours.

Along with this, India is also planning to reduce its sports ties with Pakistan. Reports suggest that the BCCI has contacted the ICC, asking not to place India and Pakistan in the same group during ICC events.

Pakistan Takes Action Against Indian Broadcast Crew

In reply to these developments, Pakistan has taken its own steps. All Indian members of the broadcasting crew working for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) have been told to leave. A source told PTI that replacements are already being arranged.

He said: “Since more than two dozen of the production and broadcast crew of the PSL, included Indian nationals. Steps are being taken to replace them. The broadcast and production crew includes engineers, production managers, cameramen, and player-tracking experts (all Indian nationals), who ensure a smooth coverage of the PSL.”

After a meeting in Islamabad, the National Security Council ordered all Indian nationals in Pakistan to leave within 48 hours. A source said the PCB and PSL are working quickly to replace the Indian members of the broadcast crew. Until they leave, those crew members have been asked to limit their movement for safety.

Meanwhile, Fancode and Sony Sports have removed all Pakistan Super League (PSL) content from their websites. The platform, which aired the first 13 matches, has decided to stop broadcasting the league after the deadly Pahalgam attack, where 26 people were killed.

In the PSL 2025 standings, Islamabad United is leading with five wins from five matches. Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars follow in second and third place, with other teams also competing strongly.
