The Indian Super League (ISL) is the premier football league of the country. It has attracted major investors from corporate giants, global football networks, and even celebrities. As one would assume, the ISL team owners play a vital role in shaping the league by funding clubs, building training facilities, developing youth academies, and promoting football in India.
As the 2025–26 season progresses, we will take a look at all ISL team owners, the people or organizations that own them.

• Mohun Bagan Super Giant
Owner: RPSG Group (led by Sanjiv Goenka)
Mohun Bagan Super Giant is owned by the RPSG Group, a large Indian conglomerate with interests in power, retail, and media. Chairman Sanjiv Goenka has expanded the group’s footprint in sports. He also owns franchises in cricket leagues such as the IPL. After merging ATK with the historic Mohun Bagan club in 2020, the group has invested heavily in building a competitive squad and maintaining the club’s legacy in Indian football.
• Mumbai City FC
Owner: City Football Group
Mumbai City FC was a part of the global City Football Group network, which also owns clubs like Manchester City. However, Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor and businessman Bimal Parekh are the two ISL team owners of Mumbai City FC. They regained full control following the exit of the City Football Group in December 2025.

• Bengaluru FC
Owner: JSW Group (represented by Parth Jindal)

• Kerala Blasters FC
Owner: Magnum Sports Pvt. Ltd.
Kerala Blasters FC is operated by Magnum Sports Pvt. Ltd., a consortium of investors. The club has become one of the most popular teams in Indian football thanks to its passionate fan base known as the “Manjappada.” The ownership group has focused on strengthening the club’s brand, building grassroots programs, and increasing fan engagement in Kerala.
• Chennaiyin FC
Owners: Abhishek Bachchan, MS Dhoni, and Vita Dani
Chennaiyin FC is one of the few ISL clubs backed by both sports and film celebrities. Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan and cricket legend MS Dhoni are among the club’s key investors, along with businesswoman Vita Dani. Their involvement has helped boost the club’s visibility and popularity, and Chennaiyin has already won the ISL title twice since the league began.
• North East United FC
Owner: John Abraham
North East United FC is owned by Bollywood actor John Abraham, who has long been passionate about football. The club represents the eight northeastern states of India, a region known for producing talented footballers. Under Abraham’s ownership, the club has focused on promoting local talent and strengthening football culture in the region.

• FC Goa
Owners: Jaydev Mody and Akshay Tandon
FC Goa is owned by businessman Jaydev Mody, chairman of Delta Corp, along with Akshay Tandon. The club has developed a reputation for playing attacking football and building strong youth development programs. FC Goa has also represented India in Asian competitions, further boosting its reputation.
• Jamshedpur FC
Owner: Tata Steel
Jamshedpur FC is owned by Tata Steel, part of the Tata Group, one of India’s oldest and most respected business conglomerates. The group has a long history of supporting sports development in India. With strong corporate backing, the club focuses on professional management, player development, and community engagement.
• Odisha FC
Owner: GMS Inc. (led by Rohan Sharma)
Odisha FC is owned by GMS Inc., led by young entrepreneur Rohan Sharma. The ownership group has invested heavily in grassroots football and infrastructure in the state. The club also works closely with local authorities to develop Bhubaneswar into a major football hub in India.
• East Bengal FC
Owner: Emami Group
East Bengal FC is one of the most historic clubs in Indian football. The Emami Group, a major Indian conglomerate known for its FMCG and healthcare businesses, became the club’s investor partner to help it compete in the ISL. Their financial backing has helped stabilize the club and strengthen its squad.
• Punjab FC
Owner: RoundGlass Sports (founded by Sunny Gurpreet Singh)
Punjab FC is run by RoundGlass Sports, founded by entrepreneur Sunny Gurpreet Singh. The organization focuses strongly on youth development and sports education. Through the RoundGlass Football Academy, the club aims to develop young football talent and promote football in northern India.
• Hyderabad FC
Owner: BC Jindal Group
BC Jindal Group, an Indian industrial company with interests in steel and power are the ISL team owners of Hyderabad FC. The club quickly rose to prominence in the ISL and won the league title in 2022. The ownership group focuses on smart recruitment and developing young Indian players.
