Indian cricket team are currently playing the three-match ODIs against West Indies in Trinidad. Shreyas Iyer who has played the first two games in this series has opened up about his new batting position. As former Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli is not in the squad for this 3-match ODIs against West Indies, Shreyas Iyer bats at no. 3 and he has done well in these two games he played.

Shreyas Iyer scored half-centuries in both the games in this series against West Indies. Shreyas Iyer also played in England but couldn’t deliver much with his bat and was not in a great touch. In the first ODI, Shreyas Iyer scored 54 runs and in second one, he scored 63 runs.

“It is a fun position to bat at, and I really enjoy it. It is one of the best positions to bat because you go into a very tough situation if the wicket falls in early. You go in and you have to see the new ball and then build your innings. Also if the openers have got into a really good partnership,” said Shreyas Iyer on batting at No. 3 as reported by espncricinfo.com.
