Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis: Youtuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul is scheduled to fight undefeated WBA lightweight kingpin Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis in a much-hyped exhibition fight on November 14 in Atlanta, Georgia.

No Titles at Stake Because of Weight Difference

While Gervonta Davis already owns the WBA lightweight title, his belt will not be on the line. The bout has been established as an exhibition since there’s a huge 65-pound weight disparity between the two boxers. Jake Paul had weighed 200lbs in his previous fight, whereas Davis fights in the 135lb lightweight category.

Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis: Exhibition Fight On November 14 In Atlanta

Jake Paul, who first made a name for himself on Disney Channel and went on to become a social media sensation, has put together a 12-1 professional boxing record since entering the sport in 2020. Paul has consistently taken on more legitimate competition, including former MMA fighters, a one-time NBA player, and even 58-year-old boxing great Mike Tyson, whom he outlasted by decision last November.

In his latest fight, Jake Paul defeated 39-year-old former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr via unanimous decision—yet another validation of his boxing career.

Gervonta Davis: Pound-for-Pound Force

Gervonta Davis, on the other hand, is still undefeated with 30 wins and 1 draw under his belt, of which 28 are knockouts. The 31-year-old fought in March, defending his WBA title after a draw against Lamont Roach Jr.

Through early 2025, Davis was #8 in the world pound-for-pound rankings, considered to be among boxing’s most explosive and skilled boxers.

Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis: Match-Up of Extremes

The fight is guaranteed to be a show because of the extreme physical contrasts between the two men. Jake Paul is 6’1″ with a 9-inch longer reach, and the significantly shorter Davis is 5’5″.

The agreed weight, glove size, and rounds remain to be decided. In past exhibition bouts, like Paul against Tyson, bigger 14oz gloves and shorter rounds were employed.

Jake Paul Aims for Greater Challenges: “First David, Then Goliath”

Jake Paul wrote on social media site X:

“Yes, he is pound-for-pound one of the best in the world, but my slogan is anyone, any time, any place, against all odds.”

He went on to add,

“First David, then Goliath” – likely a nod to his current negotiations for a future collision with British heavyweight Anthony Joshua.

British promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing reports that Joshua would potentially square off against Jake Paul when Joshua returns from injury in 2026.

A Familiar Template: Resonance of Logan Paul vs Floyd Mayweather

This new show is a replay of the 2021 fight between Logan Paul and Floyd Mayweather, where Mayweather sacrificed considerable size while keeping the honor of his undefeated status intact.

Similarly, the future Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis showdown seems more about entertainment and media hype than boxing rankings and legacy.

High-Profile, Low Stakes?

Though the battle between Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis is sure to attract huge audiences, it will do little to boost either fighter’s professional reputation. Nevertheless, it is indicative of Jake Paul’s persistent attempts to become respected within the boxing community by fighting all comers no matter the size, experience, or recognition.
