Tennis fans in South Korea are set for a world-class showdown as Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, the top two players in men’s tennis, will meet in an exhibition match on January 10, 2026, at the Inspire Arena in Incheon. The contest, part of the prestigious Hyundai Card Super Match series, will take place just eight days before the start of the Australian Open in Melbourne.
For Korean fans, it will be a rare chance to see two of the sport’s brightest young stars share the court. “For domestic tennis fans it will be the very first opportunity to see the two top-ranked players compete,” organisers said in a statement.
Jannik SinnerVs Carlos Alcaraz: A Rivalry Defining a Generation
Sinner and Alcaraz have dominated the men’s game in recent seasons, capturing nine of the last ten Grand Slam titles between them and battling in three of the four major finals in 2025.
- At the French Open, Alcaraz prevailed in a thrilling five-set encounter.
- At Wimbledon, Sinner responded with a statement victory to lift his first title at the All England Club.
- Alcaraz gained the upper hand again at the U.S. Open, earning his sixth career Grand Slam and reclaiming the world No. 1 ranking- briefly.
That ranking changed hands again on Sunday, when Sinner defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime 6–4, 7–6 (7–4) to win his first Paris Masters title and reclaim the top spot. The victory also extended the Italian’s indoor winning streak to 26 consecutive matches.
In their official meetings, Alcaraz leads the head-to-head 10–5, but Sinner has had the upper hand in several recent finals, including the Six Kings Slam exhibition in Riyadh last month, where he took home a reported $6 million prize.
Hyundai Card Super Match Legacy
The Hyundai Card Super Match has a history of bringing tennis legends to South Korea. Past editions have featured iconic names such as Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Pete Sampras, Maria Sharapova, and Venus Williams.
While organisers have yet to announce prize money for this year’s event, anticipation is already high given the calibre of the competitors and the timing- coming just before the first Grand Slam of the season.

Road to Melbourne
Both Sinner and Alcaraz will use the Incheon exhibition as a final tune-up for the 2026 Australian Open, which begins on January 18.
For Sinner, it’s a chance to warm up as he bids for a third consecutive Australian Open crown, while Alcaraz will arrive in Melbourne aiming to complete his career Grand Slam- a feat that would cement his status among the game’s all-time greats.
As their rivalry continues to elevate men’s tennis, fans in South Korea will be treated to a glimpse of what could once again define the year ahead: Sinner vs. Alcaraz, for the world to watch.
