Karim Benzema has finally got what he deserved, he wins the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year award. On Thursday, 25th August, UEFA conducted a draw for the new season of Champions League and after the draw there was an award session for the best performers of the year 2021/22. Men’s and Women’s Coach of the year, Men’s and Women’s best player of the year, these were the awards that was been given by the officials.

Champion side Real Madrid’s striker Karim Benzema who scored 40+ goals in the previous season was no doubt one of the greatest player of the season. He deserved this trophy and even the rivals knew that the award will be given to Karim Benzema. Real Madrid won three major trophies last season namely UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and La Liga. Karim Benzema scored goals in all of these competitions.

Playing 12 games in the UEFA Champions League, Karim Benzema scored 15 goals which also most by any player in the history of the league. The French forward scored 27 La Liga goals which helped the team win the title. He also had a goal in UEFA Super Cup against Eintracht Frankfurt FC.
