Karun Nair started a new chapter in his career in England when he scored a brilliant double century for India A on the second day of the first unofficial Test in Canterbury. With the sun shining bright, Nair came to the crease with his usual plan to trouble England Lions’ bowlers. He ended the first day unbeaten on 186 runs and then gradually found his rhythm by taking singles. He kept a strong defense and kept England Lions’ fast bowlers guessing.
India A vs England Lions: Karun Nair Shows His Class with a Double Century
The 33-year-old had to wait until the last over of the 101st over to reach his double century. Eddie Jack bowled a loose delivery in line and length, which Nair took advantage of by sending the ball to the boundary. With that four, he completed his double hundred. Amid the applause echoing in the stadium, Nair kissed his helmet to celebrate the moment.

In December 2022, Karun Nair had wished, “Dear cricket, give me one more chance.” Since then, he has worked hard to make the most of every opportunity to return to India’s team, especially for the five Tests starting on June 20 against England.

During his innings, Karun Nair stayed calm and ignored his poor IPL form and other events happening on the field. Dhruv Jurel started the day positively and hit a boundary but got out at 94 runs (120 balls) when Ajeet Dale deceived him.
Nitish Kumar Reddy showed fight but lasted only 22 balls before getting caught by England Lions captain James Rew.
Shardul Thakur played aggressively in a short time and scored 18 runs off 13 balls, including some boundaries. But he was caught by James Rew off Zaman Akhter’s bowling.
Karun Nair ended his innings at 204 runs (281 balls), proving a strong case for his comeback.
