Spain’s La Liga is examining whether a gathering coordinated by Barcelona players at their chief Lionel Messi’s home violated the Covid-19 convention.

“We’re investigating it,” La Liga sources said on Tuesday.

Lionel Messi organized a dinner party after Barcelona won the last game to boost the team’s morale for the upcoming matches.

Since, Spain is currently observing strict social distancing rules, Lionel Messi flouted the norms by organizing the dinner and is currently under the scanner.
The gathering may comprise “a potential breach of bio-bubble and of Covid-19 conventions”, the source told.

“The medical department will examine this case and conclude whether to take it any further,” Pere Aragones, VP of the territorial Catalan government, said on Tuesday.

He added, “We approach everybody to regard the measures and ask celebrities to be extra mindful as they can are role model for others.”
