Lasith Malinga retires from all forms of cricket announces via twitter

Sri Lanka pacer Lasith Malinga has decided to hang up his boots in T20I cricket, bringing an end to one of the great careers in the sport. He is now ending a 17-year career in which he became the highest wicket-taker in Twenty20 internationals.

Malinga had already retired from Test (2011) and ODI (2019) cricket. The 38-year-old announced his T20 retirement on social media to end his decorated 17-year career.

Lasith Malinga has been a key player for the Mumbai Indians. He has successfully picked 170 wickets for Mumbai Indians. The IPL team says, “Thank. You. Malinga.” on Twitter.

Furthermore, Lasith Malinga goes on to thank all of the members associated with his cricket career. He adds,” I want to thank the Sri Lanka cricket board and my team members. I want to thank the Mumbai Indians cricket team and team members, especially the owners and the officials, Melbourne Stars, Kent Cricket Club, Rangpur Riders, Guyana Warriors, Maratha Arabians, and Montreal Tigers.”
