In a high-octane clash between Lucknow Supergiants (LSG) and Gujarat Titans (GT), Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh hogged the limelight by smashing a stunning century off only 56 deliveries. Opener Marsh of Lucknow showed raw aggression, scoring 10 fours and 6 sixes in his blistering innings.
This was Mitchell Marsh’s maiden IPL century, and it could not have arrived at a better juncture for the Supergiants, who were fighting for pride after being ruled out of playoff contention.
Marsh Aims at Rashid Khan With a 25-run over

One of the most sensational moments in the innings was when Marsh attacked one of the greatest T20 bowlers in the world, Rashid Khan. During the 12th over of the innings, Marsh destroyed Rashid for 25 runs, including 3 boundaries and 2 sixes in five successive deliveries.
Few have ever dismantled Rashid Khan with such ease, so Marsh’s century became all the more special and unforgettable in IPL history.
Blistering Start by Aiden Markram
Marsh began the innings with South African sensation Aiden Markram, and the pair gave Lucknow a good platform to start. Their 91-run opening partnership put LSG on top early on.
Markram too played a brisk innings, making 36 runs from 24 balls, before getting out. But the platform was set perfectly for Marsh to let loose his fury and guide the innings ahead.
Shubman Gill’s Call to Bowl First Fails
Shubman Gill, captain of Gujarat Titans, won the toss and decided to bowl first in an attempt to get early wickets and put Lucknow on the back foot. However, the move cost him dearly when Mitchell Marsh’s century ravaged Gujarat’s bowling department and placed LSG in a strong position.
Marsh Century leads LSG to 235

With this innings, and Nicholas Pooran’s half century assisted by the skipper Rishabh Pant’s short cameo of 16 runs in 6 balls, led Lucknow Super Giants to a mammoth total of 235, which is also the 3rd highest total of IPL history.
