Indian Tennis player Sumit Nagal has qualified for the Paris Olympics for the second time after 2021 scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 11.

Indian Tennis player Sumit Nagal has qualified for the Paris Olympics scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 11. Although the top 56 players in the world are granted direct qualification in the Olympics Nagal earned an Olympic Quota due to the rule which limits a maximum of four players from a country to participate in the Olympics which is the biggest multisporting event in the world.

Reacting to the news of earning a quota for the upcoming Olympic Games scheduled to take place in Paris, France from July 26 to August 11 Sumit Nagal shared a heartfelt message on social media platform X to express his thoughts. “Extremely glad to share that I have officially qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics. This is a monumental moment for me as the Olympics holds a special place in my heart,” wrote Sumit Nagal on X.

The Appearance

This will be Sumit’s second appearance in the multi-sporting event having featured in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics thereby becoming the first Tennis player from India to represent the country in the second round of the Olympics after 25 years and third overall by defeating Uzbekistan’s Denis Istomin in the first round. but went on to lose against ROC’s Daniil Medvedev in the second round.

The Performance

Reacting to his performance Nagal said “One of my career highlights so far was participating in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Ever since then, Paris has been a big goal for me. Can’t wait to put my best foot forward,” added Nagal in his tweet.

The Schedule

Nagal’s next challenge before getting on the plane to Paris, France would be Wimbledon in England scheduled to kickoff from the beginning of next month. Sumit would like to string a few upsets to strengthen his case for winning the title and put up a strong show in the tournament in the build-up to the Olympic Games 2024 in Paris
