An interesting effort by Pakistani batsman Fawad Alam's 124

Pakistani Batsman Fawad Alam continued his innings from day one to day three with a century, against the West Indies on Sunday. He was the one who brought the team to an interesting position after the game was affected by rain and bad light.

Alam was 124 not out after Pakistan declared their innings at 302-9 shortly after tea. West Indies’ lost their opening batsmen Kraigg Brathwaite, Kieran Powell, and Roston Chase early on before stumps when it was 39-3.

Unfortunately, Fawad Alam had to forcefully retire on 76 when a severe cramp occurred in his left leg. This very partnership with Babar Azam was crucial and much-required because bad light spoilt the play on the first day, all of day 2 was filled with rain and on day 3 Alam was recovered and fit to play an innings.

Batsman Fawad Alam also agrees that “The match wasn’t easy.” He goes on to add that, “The conditions were challenging.

Even as Fawad Alam was the only hope for Pakistan against West Indies, some quick wickets fell in succession and the batsman was not able to make their mark.

With that interesting game of cricket in the 2nd test, with so many hurdles in Pakistan’s way, the West Indies successfully lead the two-match series 1-0 after winning the first test by one wicket.
