Pakistan unveils ‘Star Nation Jersey’ ahead of 2023 Men’s ODI World Cup

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has introduced the new ‘Star Nation Jersey’ for the senior men’s cricket team in preparation for the upcoming Men’s ODI World Cup 2023.

Prior to the approaching Men’s ODI World Cup 2023, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) showcased the senior men’s team’s brand-new jersey during a launch event here on Monday.

It was unveiled at a formal event presided over by Zaka Ashraf, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee, and given the name “Star Nation Jersey.”

“The Star Nation Jersey bears witness to the enduring bond between our cricketers and the passionate fans who stand by them through every match. This jersey encapsulates our rich cricketing heritage and the luminous future that awaits,” said Ashraf.

According to the PCB, the Star Nation Jersey, which is also currently available for pre-order on the internet, represents more than just a simple article of clothing; it captures the deep bond between Pakistan’s cricketing legends and their devoted fans.

“Drawing inspiration from celestial bodies, each star symbolises brilliance, aspiration, and the radiant glow of cricketing achievements. This design philosophy encapsulates the spirit of cricketing excellence, resonating deeply with every Pakistani cricket enthusiast,” it added.

The Asia Cup, which will take place from August 30 to September 17, will include Pakistan, the top-ranked ODI team, as its next opponent. The tournament will begin on August 30 with Pakistan, one of the co-hosts, taking on Nepal at the Multan Cricket Stadium. On September 2, Pakistan and India will square off at Pallekele.

The top two teams from Groups A and B advance to the Super Fours, where they play three more games at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, which also serves as the venue for the championship game on September 17.

At the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium (Uppal) in Hyderabad, Pakistan will begin their Men’s ODI World Cup campaign against the Netherlands on October 6. On October 10, they will play Sri Lanka there.
