He accomplished this feat in 47 balls, becoming the second-fastest century-maker (behind Yuvraj Singh) of IPL history, and also the first player to hit over 10 sixes in a single IPL innings. Therefore, he has set a new record for the highest run scorer in an IPL season thus far.

Abhishek Sharma scored a century against the Delhi Capitals through a blistering display of batting. He achieved this milestone in the match having faced a mere 47 deliveries. With this innings, he became the fourth player this season to score a century.

Abhishek faced a total of 68 balls during his innings. During this time, he scored an unbeaten 135 runs, powered by 10 fours and 10 sixes. He maintained a strike rate of 198. The record for the highest individual score of the season also now stands in his name.
