Rakshith Dave’s Remarkable Journey to Runner-Up Spot in MSBK 2023

In a stellar debut season, 15-year-old Indian talent Rakshith Dave achieved an impressive runner-up spot in the Malaysian Superbike Championship 2023, concluding at the renowned Sepang International Circuit. Rakshith, who marked his international debut in Round 1 with a remarkable double victory, secured the second position in the highly competitive championship in Malaysia.

During the final Round 3, Rakshith showcased his skill by clinching two podium places, securing a second and a third position in the MSBK 250 B Race category. Despite this strong performance, he settled for second place in the overall standings of his class for the championship. In Race 1, a thrilling 8-lap event, he clocked 20 minutes and 53.558 seconds, followed by an impressive 20 minutes and 41.903 seconds for a second-place finish in Race 2.

Riding a Honda CBR250RR, Rakshith had previously dominated Round 1 races in the Malaysia SBK 250cc category (B category) at the Sepang International Circuit, earning him the ‘Week-end Warrior Trophy.’ The young talent expressed his joy, saying, “I am very happy to take second place in the prestigious Malaysian Super Bike Championship. I am elated, and this gives me a push to continue my dreams.”

Rakshith’s journey in motor racing began in 2020 at the Madras International Circuit when he was selected for the Honda India Talent Cup. Since then, he has notched up numerous victories and podium finishes, progressing to the NSF 250 class and participating in the MiniGP India series in 2022. In 2023, he secured second place in the Idemitsu Honda 2023 Championship and claimed the overall title in the teenage class of the MMSC Sprint Rally.

The pinnacle of Rakshith’s 2023 achievements was his selection to represent India in the Asia Talent Cup 2024, joining a select group of 10 riders from the Asia Pacific Region. The MSBK championship featured six races across three rounds at the Sepang International Circuit, with Rakshith concluding the season on a bright note with 111 points, just four points behind Muhd Izrul Huzaimie Amran, who clinched the 250B class title.
