RCB vs SRH: RCB have won this IPL 2026 match versus SRH in an exciting fashion! Their chase of the competitive target set by SRH which was 201/9 in 20 overs, was completed with 4+ overs remaining as Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 69 off 38 balls.

SRH Innings Overview: Comeback After Early Collapse

SRH, who were struggling at 29/3 in the Powerplay, made an incredible comeback due to the exceptional partnership between Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen.

Ishan Kishan was the main architect of the comeback, hitting 80 off 38 balls. Heinrich Klaasen also contributed well, but the catch was dubious. The two players added 97 runs, helping their side make a comeback.

Aniket Verma’s Explosive Finish Powers SRH Past 200

Aniket Verma was the real catalyst for the late charge:

  • He attacked the bowlers by showing innovative batting skills
  • He hit solid shots on slower balls and yorkers
  • He helped get the team over 200 runs finishing on 201/9

Aniket later went on to say that the wicket was good for batting, and if the bowlers had bowled according to the plan, they would have defended 201 runs. Jacob Duffy was the standout bowler for RCB on his debut, but as a team, the bowling was a bit erratic with flashes of brilliance.

Top Performers

Jacob Duffy made an impact in his debut match taking 3 wickets for 22 runs off 4 overs.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar also performed well by bowling economical spells and creating important wicket-taking opportunities that allowed SRH to gain a successful result.

Romario Shepherd came through with critical wickets at the death as part of SRH’s bowling attack.

Although RCB appeared to have complete control at the start of the innings, they failed miserably at the end in terms of restricting scoring rates.

Possibly key turning points during the first half of RCB vs. SRH:

Duffy’s breakthroughs at the beginning of the match brought the score down to 29/3.

The partnership between Kishan and Klaasen dramatically changed the match’s venue.

The contentious catch taken by Phil Salt to dismiss Klaasen.

Aniket Verma’s contributions towards the end of the innings helped RCB set up what would become a successful chase of 202 runs against SRH. Chasing a target of 202 runs, RCB got off to a flyer with both Phil Salt looking to attack against the bowling attack of Sunrisers.

  • Salt scored two boundaries off Nitish Kumar Reddy

RCB scored 9 runs from the first over

But the momentum was halted when Jaydev Unadkat got Phil Salt out early, reducing RCB to 9/1.

Padikkal and Kohli Take Control of RCB vs SRH Clash

After losing Phil Salt early, Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli took control of the match. Devdutt Padikkal’s counterattack, played an aggressive knock, scoring 61 off just 26 balls.

Virat Kohli’s played the anchor’s role, rotated strike well, punished the loose balls with precision and later accelerated with strong sixes. The duo has added 101 runs for the partnership, putting RCB ahead in the chase.

RCB vs SRH Powerplay & Middle Overs Analysis

RCB scored 76/1 in just 6 Powerplay overs. Carry the same momentum in the middle overs and crossed 100 in less than 9 overs. The pitch was again in good condition for batting.

SRH Bowling Struggles and Missed Opportunities

Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers were struggling to restrict the runs:

  • Eshan Malinga was leaking runs and wides.
  • Harshal Patel was also unable to control the variations.
  • A crucial dropped catch by Heinrich Klaasen was a lifeline for Kohli.

Despite these setbacks, Harsh Dubey was able to get a breakthrough for his team by dismissing Padikkal.

Rajat Patidar’s Quickfire Impact in RCB vs SRH

Rajat Patidar continued the momentum:

  • Scored a quickfire 31 off 12 deliveries.
  • Smashed a number of sixes off Malinga.
  • Kept the required run rate in check

Late Fightback by SRH – Too Little, Too Late?

David Payne gave SRH a brief lifeline:

  • Dismissed Patidar and Jitesh Sharma off consecutive deliveries
  • Created a temporary wobble for RCB
  • But RCB was still comfortably placed in their run chase.

At the end Virat Kohli ended the match early with 26 balls remaining and 6 wickets.
